Injury Update

So, most of us are finally recovering from our injuries. Charlie is almost 100% after breaking his ankle a couple months ago.

Greg is making some serious progress as well after essentially blowing up his leg.

And finally, I'm just beginning to recover from my knee injury I attained at a rail jam a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I tore my inner and outer meniscus and my ACL so I won't be doing any boarding for the rest of the year. Hopefully I will be back in 6 months or so.

Jumps

We'll we tried to hit backcountry jumps again today. Too bad that again it didn't work out too well. Reasons why are A)we suck at jumping B)The jumps we're hitting suck C) We have no idea what we're doing or D) bad luck. Max again proved that he is the best at breaking stuff as he ripped not only the inserts out of his board but the wood around them too. Here are some fun pics regardless.

Mediocre Spot Of The Week- U.S. Department of Commerce DFD

This down flat down is pretty sick and there are other sick kink rails around it. It's 12 stairs flat 12 stairs, not too bad of a kink and plenty of room to approach and land. It's only frontside but the rail is relatively new and a standard round bar. This rail is actually located in Boulder close to CU. Too bad it's at the U.S. Department of Commerce building. This place has really tight security since it's a government building. It doesn't just have its own security but it's own cops. I worked an event in there and we had to show photo ID's to the guy at the gate and he had to check our names to let us in. So good luck hitting this. If you get a shot on this rail we'll buy you 3 combo #1's at Tra Lings

Mediocre Spot Of The Week- Evergreen High School 35 stair rail

This is a sick round down bar, 35 stairs, frontside or backside. The rail is sturdy and new with plenty of room on the run in and run out since the rail links two fields. Too bad there's a brand new chain link fence right at the bottom. You have to thread the needle through the 4ft gap on this one or you're fucked. If you can show us a shot of you threading the needle and not jumping off before the last 5ft of the rail we will buy you 5 Chipotle burritos.

Thursday Night Throwdown

These four quotes are the best way way to describe last Thursday night. I decided to do this "chill" contest in Boulder even though I hadn't really snowboarded in about 3 weeks. But, I really wanted to win some money so I figured I'd give it a shot. Fortunately, Greg, Hayden, Mike, and Sproat were there to cheer me on with some hand crafted signs.

Back To The Hospital

Well last night Nick was doing pretty good in the Campus Rail Jam at CU till he tweaked his knee in finals. The medical staff assisted him off the course and we saw he was in the ambulance. He said it was fucked and he needed to go to the hospital so me(Greg) and Goodwin took him therel. They just did x-rays and gave him a brace. He'll get an MRI next week and determine exactly what he did so hopefully it's not toooo bad. I was in there with my crutches and he was in the wheelchair and the nurse came into the waiting room and said "ok now who's Nick Brewer?" unsure if it was me or him. Anyways it was a pretty sad sight around our apartment last night since we both couldn't walk. Charlie is almost all good to go. He made some turns last weekend and his foot that he broke was sore but a few weeks and he'll be back out there. I(Greg) will probably be out there in a couple weeks hopefully. The doctor this morning told me I could walk and move my leg all I want so I'm gonna really try and build the strength in my leg these next few weeks so I can ride again. Goodwin still has sore ribs and a tweaked wrist. Hopefully we'll still be able to get some shots this season in the spring. L8R

Mediocre Spot Of The Week- Aswan 57 stair

This 57 stair down bar is pretty sick, you can hit it frontside or backside. You have to come through a fence to hit it but there's plenty of room for a drop in and tons of room in the runout. The rail is a round bar about 2 inches wide and really sturdy. The sides of the rail that aren't stairs are banks that are kinda of bumpy consisting of rocks cemented together to make the bank. But with some snow and them being covered it would be a safe spot to bail off. Too bad this rail is in Aswan, Egypt at the old dam, which is located in southern Egypt just north of the equator. It was 118 degrees when I was there this past summer. Also there's security guards around it, who look like Osama Bin Laden with machine guns just in case. But if you send us a shot on this we will buy you a 30 rack.
